The lighting in this scene shows us that it
is daytime and it highlights Maggie as she runs across the rooftops. It also
shows us that she is the good guy as she is lit up. She is also wearing light
clothing adding to the perception of being the good guy.
Costume, Hair & Make-up:
Maggie’s costume reflects the fact that she
is the good guy but she ha a dark side. Her hair is still neat even though he
has been chased across rooftops and building, adding a essence of continuity
errors. Her make up makes her face reflect the sunlight to make her stand out.
Setting & Props:
He setting is the rooftops of the bizarre
in Istanbul you can see the rest of the city in the background behind Maggie,
showing how big the city is. The props in this scene would be the planks on which
they run as they would have been strengthened for the scene.
Positioning of Objects:
The positioning of Maggie in this scene
makes her the first thing we see and we will then follow her out of the shot.
Also we see the satellite dish her feet, which could be there to suggest something
that may happen later on in the seen.
Body Language & Facial Expressions:
Maggie’s body language shows us that she is
pushing herself to get away from the bad guys off shot. It also shows us that
she is familiar o the situation. Her facial expression shows controlled terror,
suggesting once again that she has been in the situation before and knows how to
handle herself.

This scene follows the codes & conventions of thrillers because it has quick shots and suspense music. However it also challenges them by not having dark lighting or flashbacks, etc. .
Gravity:
Lighting is used of
light up certain areas of he shot. This shows us that they are in space as he only
areas, which are lit up, are where he sun hits it. The colour of white shows
that they are ‘innocent’, in the fact that they haven’t done anything wrong.

us that they are in space as they are dressed as astronauts. Their make-up
makes their faces reflect the light and makes them stand out.
Settings & Props:
The setting shows
us that they are in outer space as you can see planet earth behind them. What also
suggests that they are in space is the space capsule that they are working on. Also
the low gravity also shows us that it is in space.
Positioning of Objects:
The positioning of the actors in this shot
helps us to realize that they are in space, as the planet is in the background.
Also the he way the actors are opposite each other suggests that they’re having
a conversation.
Body Language & Facial Expressions:
Their body language suggests that all is ok
and that it is a normal day in space. Their facial expressions show that they
may be in deep conversation as you can see the omen on the left looking
directly at the person on the right as if in deep conversation.
How it Follows Codes & Conventions:
This scene appears to follow Codes & Conventions as we see low key lighting, by o scary the situation is and by having suspense music. It does not appear to challenge conventions as it appears to satisfy visible conventions.
